Zenga defends Insigne after choosing to join Toronto. Walter Zenga believes Lorenzo Insigne’s decision to move to Toronto FC was not based on wages alone.

Former Italy goalkeeper Walter Zenga has defend Lorenzo Insigne. After the 30-year-old Napoli striker decided to join Major League Soccer club Toronto FC at the end of the day. The contract with the Naples this summer is not for financial reasons solely, according to Sky Sport Italia on Wednesday. 

Insigne has accepted a four-year contract worth €11.5 million a year plus €4.5 million in additional bonuses from Toronto FC and will join the club this summer. After his contract with Napoli expires. Which has been suggest.

That his decision to join Toronto FC was financial, Zenga believes. The 30-year-old did not make the decision to move to Canada solely on wages.

‘I was a romantic in school. I believe he doesn’t want to play with Napoli, that’s why he accepted the offer.’

‘However I challenge everyone to turn down the same offer Lorenzo has received,’ said Zenga.

Insigne will end the season at Napoli and move to Toronto at the end of the season. The MLS side are expect to announce his signing by the end of the week.
